The Lake Water District is that part of the town of Varick under the water of Cayuga and Seneca lakes. The rules for this district include rules about docks and hoists.
Read Varick Zoning Code Section 306 to see the complete rules for this district.
Some of the rules for docks:
-The main structure height can't exceed 16ft above the 100-year flood line.
-No dock can exceed 850 square feet, including walkways.
-Vertical walls around a hoist are not permitted.
-Side setback rules apply to hoists, decks, walkways, and docks.
Note that the Army Corps of Engineers also has restrictions on docks built on Seneca and Cayuga lakes.
